Gyeongsangnam-do Governor Kim Gyeong-soo, who was jailed in the first trial for participating in the “arrogant comment manipulation case,” is sentenced to appeal this week. Depending on the outcome of the trial, the political structure of the ruling party and the political regime are expected to be greatly affected. Reporter Lim Seong-ho reports. Last year, the first trial court sentenced Governor Kim Gyeong-soo to two years in prison and jail time. Before the last presidential election, I saw the demonstration of Drucking’s comment manipulation program, and judged that he was actively involved in manipulating public opinion enough to exchange a list of articles to work on. Furthermore, in exchange for manipulating comments, Drucking admitted that he proposed the post of consul general in Sendai, Japan, adding 10 months in prison and two years of probation for violating electoral law. For Governor Kim, it was a fatal outcome that could deprive him of his right to choose for another 10 years. Gov. Kim immediately appealed, accusing the ruling of having no physical evidence. The appeal trial, which began in March of the same year, passed the year with two postponed sentences. In particular, earlier this year, the Court of Appeals concluded that Governor Kim had witnessed a demonstration of derogatory remarks manipulation on an unusual basis, and said that additional hearings were necessary on whether or not to contest the contest. After that, the court was switched to regular court staff, and after twists and turns, the appeal decision hearing was held in September. As in the first trial, the special counsel was sentenced to six years in prison for obstructing businesses with disabilities such as computers and violating electoral law. In his closing arguments, Governor Kim repeatedly denied the charges, criticizing that he was forced to ask whether the special counsel was trying to reveal the truth or unconditionally convict. Drooking Kim Dong-won, who led the manipulation of comments, was already sentenced to three years in prison at the Supreme Court in February. Governor Kim is considered the core of so-called philanthropy and one of the most prominent passport players. Based on the results of this week’s appeal, Governor Kim’s personal political destiny and the contest for power in the Democratic Party are expected to fluctuate.
