Today (fourth), the last day of the Chuseok holiday, the number of new corona19 patients increased by 64, continuing a double-digit increase for the fourth day.

Some say the growth trend has slowed over the holiday season, but there are still concerns about the “quiet expansion.”

Quarantine authorities are not yet at a safe stage and will decide whether to extend social distancing after observing the situation until mid-week.

On the last day of this year’s Chuseok holiday, the number of new confirmed cases registered 64.

The number rose to 113 on the first day of the holiday, then fell below the 100 mark in one day and maintained a double-digit increase for four consecutive days.

Looking at the situation in the last two weeks of vacation, the number of confirmed cases in Korea averaged 66.5 per day, up half of the previous two weeks.

Certainly looking at the numbers, the spread is slowing down.

However, considering the decrease in the number of tests during the Christmas season and the spread of infection due to the increase in the number of holidays during the Christmas season, an accurate assessment is expected to be possible only in the middle of this week.

Quarantine authorities are particularly concerned about the possibility of a “quiet spread” during the Christmas season.

Two returnees who have already visited Busan have been confirmed, and additional confirmations of existing infected groups and small-scale group infections are also turning up in several locations.

Also, about 20% of cases with an unclear route of infection are likely to cause a massive outbreak at any one time.
