At Seongseok Church in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, the cumulative number of confirmed cases surpassed 160 within a week after the first confirmed cases were released.

It is literally an emergency, as group infections that started in everyday life spaces like restaurants also broke out everywhere.

First of all, please tell us about the group infection situation in the church.

The confirmed cumulative cases related to this church were 162 at 0:00 yesterday.

The number increased by 22 in one day, and it was found that this church, with more than 1,000 registered members, held a weekly revival meeting and practiced choir.

This church held revival meetings four times a week for 7 weeks from mid-October to the 3rd of this month.

About 100 people were reported to have attended the revival meeting, which lasted from an hour to an hour and a half.

The place where the revival meeting was held was a 400-person chapel, and ventilation was found to be difficult because only two windows 60 cm wide and 40 cm long could be opened.

The choir practice room was also found to have a structure that is difficult to ventilate due to the small windows.

Furthermore, quarantine authorities believe that the cup noodles and tea were placed at the time of the practice, so it is highly likely that church members will remove their masks and eat together.

It has been more than a week since the first confirmed person was released on the 6th, and as the nth infection cases continue, such as 25 family members and 13 acquaintances, as well as church members, it is difficult to estimate how many more confirmed cases will increase today.

In the metropolitan area, group infections that occur in spaces of daily life, such as restaurants, workplaces, and nursing hospitals, continue to occur, making it unsafe anywhere.

First, there have been 280 confirmed cases related to restaurants in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

The number of confirmed cases continues to rise as the infection that started here spreads to singing classes and nursing homes in Suwon.

Regarding the call center in Jung-gu, Seoul, 21 people were confirmed, and it is estimated that there has been a further spread to the church the confirmed person is attending.

At the Pocheon-si prayer center, Gyeonggi-do, where the first confirmed cases occurred on the 11th, the cumulative number of confirmed cases rose to 34.

The spread of infection in hospitals and nursing hospitals with many elderly people with weak immunity is a more serious situation.

58 confirmed cases related to Jahye Hospital in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul,

The cumulative number of confirmed patients at HyoPlus Nursing Hospital in Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do is 72.

In a nursing home in Siheung, Gyeonggi province, after the first confirmed person left on the 12th, 17 more have been infected so far in the contact person investigation process.

In most cases, the massive infection occurred in a space called 3-mild, where a large number of people concentrated in a closed space and had close contact within 1 m.

There were also cases where a mask was not used in that space.

Now, asymptomatic and latent infections, as well as infections of unknown pathways, spread throughout everyday life.

It is extremely important to follow the daily quarantine, such as wearing a mask, without worrying about meetings with family, acquaintances and colleagues.
