In connection with Suh Moo’s suspicions, the son of Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae, who was the superintendent of Seo’s unit, Captain Kim Gwan-jeong, the Seoul East District Prosecutor’s Office, was assigned to the Prosecutor’s Office from the Seoul Central District.

In addition, the High Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing a new investigation into complaints of preferential vacations for Minister Chu’s son, which the Dongbu District Prosecutor’s Office concluded as not charged.

Interest is centered on whether the controversy over Minister Chu’s son, which has now been resolved, will be rekindled.

In September, when the investigation into the suspicion of Chu’s son Seo’s vacation preference ended, a controversy arose in the prosecution’s investigation.

Captain Kim Mo, who was the supervisor of Mr. Seo’s unit, told the prosecution that in June 2016, then-Assistant Minister Chu called and asked for an extension of the vacation, but it was confirmed that he was not listed in register.

As the controversy grew, the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutor’s Office explained that the prosecutor in charge had not heard such a statement, and the prosecutor in charge of Kim Kwan-jeong made a statement to the effect that the credibility of the statement of the Captain Kim was short.

In response, Captain Kim’s side indicted Chief Prosecutor Kim of the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office on the 4th, saying he was spreading false information to avoid accusations of getting rid of Mr. Seo.

This case is attached to the first criminal division of the Central District Prosecutor’s Office and is being investigated.

Separately, the Seoul Superior Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing whether or not to re-investigate the suspicion of preferential vacation for Minister Chu’s son, in which the complaint was filed.

Earlier, the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutor’s Office “ ordered a non-prosecution ” of related individuals, such as Minister Chu and his son, Seo, but it was confirmed that they did not accept the Supreme Prosecutor’s order for the supplementary investigation, which generated controversy.

The Seoul Senior Prosecutor’s Office recently prosecuted Gwangju District Attorney Jeong Jin-woong, who had a fight while trying to seize and search the mobile phone of alleged prosecutor Han Dong-hoon, in connection with the investigation into the suspicion of the ‘prosecutor’s office’.

Inside and outside the prosecutor’s office, the Seoul High Prosecutor’s Office not only judges that a new investigation is necessary, but the perspective of the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutor’s Office can be reversed if the investigation proceeds directly.
