The fast track incident was in April last year, but is the trial now taking place?

[기자]

Previously, Congressman Park Ju-min and others were brought to trial in January on charges of assaulting or injuring officials, including former Korean Liberal Party lawmakers, during the accelerating collapse of the National Assembly in April last year.

Only 17 months after the case occurred, the first official trial took place, because the video data presented by the prosecution to the court was enormous and the trial timeline was delayed due to the large number of people involved in the case.

At the time of the fast track collapse, Yeo-Ya violently faced the amendment to the electoral law that contained the interlocking proportional representation system and the law to establish a criminal investigation center for high-ranking officials in the process of designating them as expedited matters. 27 officials, including former lawmakers and Korean Liberal Party officials, were also brought to trial on charges.

They denied all the charges in the first formal trial held yesterday, saying it was a legitimate legislative activity to prevent the ruling party from escaping.
