The council of elders decides whether to return to treatment after gathering opinions
The government extends the deadline to resubmit the ‘intentional notification’ until midnight today
Top doctors who continue group closures against the agreement between the Korean Medical Association and the government and ruling party are expected to hold a meeting tomorrow and decide whether to return to treatment.
I am also interested in the possibility of medical students taking the ‘Doctoral Exam’, which is delayed until midnight today (6).
Reporter Ko Han-seok reports.
[기자]The Majority Council of Korea collects the opinions of doctors this weekend and decides whether to return to treatment tomorrow.
According to the medical community, Park Ji-hyun, chairman of the Senior Council Emergency Response Committee, announced that the meeting will be held tomorrow afternoon.
At the meeting, the group is expected to continue discussing whether the group action will continue and what conditions will be imposed on the government and the ruling party if they return.
Previously, the Council of Elders strongly opposed the Medical Association’s decision to return to the medical field rather than temporarily suspend the increase in medical students and the promotion of public medical schools.
However, it is analyzed that it will be difficult to enforce the refusal of medical treatment since the elderly, the Medical College, decided to return and the criticism of the Corona 19 incident is increasing.
Seo Yeon-ju, Vice Chairman of the Council of Elders, posted a post on social media that said, “It will be very difficult for the moment, but I will do my best to fill the vacant positions.”
It was corrected a few hours later, but was interpreted as suggestive of a possible return.
Shortly after the agreement with the Medical Association, the government dropped the charges against the doctors and delayed the deadline for resubmitting the national doctor’s exam until midnight today.
The Medical School Student Association and the Graduate School of Medicine are known to be discussing countermeasures.
Since more than 90% of medical students have refused to take the exam, their movement is also expected to be a turning point in this group break.
