Today, the first day of the year, we are holding small press conferences and vehicle demonstrations that some conservative groups have announced.

The police continue to monitor sporadic illegal protests, monitoring protests reported for legitimate conduct.

We will connect with reporters to learn more details. Reporter Ahn Yoon-hak!

First of all, in Gwanghwamun Plaza, did the conservative group that held the Liberation Day rally hold a press conference?

[기자]

The Emergency Response Committee on August 15 held a press conference in front of Exit 1 of Gwanghwamun Station around 1:30 pm.

Today, only a small number of 9 or fewer people came together and condemned the government’s quarantine policy.

The police, who had decided to control the unauthorized meeting, were watching whether the press conference would lead to a large staff meeting.

Members of some conservative groups have protested the police check, but thankfully it ended without major conflict.

However, it has been confirmed that more than 10 citizens are trying to rally and demonstrate in the Gwanghwamun Plaza area.

Some vehicle demonstrations are also taking place.

Another conservative group, the Patriot Patrol Team, held a vehicle rally in the morning in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, and then moved from the current Seoul Detention Center to Seoul.

Currently, a vehicle demonstration is taking place in the Gwangjin-gu area to criticize Minister Chu Mi-ae.

The group said it had no plans to get off in Seoul, according to the court ruling that only allowed vehicle demonstrations.

The National Movement for New Korea has been holding vehicle demonstrations in Gangdong-gu, Seoul since 2 pm.

Initially, a face-to-face press conference was planned before the vehicle demonstration, but according to police control guidelines, it is the position that only vehicle demonstrations will take place without a press conference.

Are the police still on alert?

[기자]

As the lunch breaks passed, an individual protest and a face-to-face press conference were held, and the boundaries were tightened.

The Gwanghwamun area is packed with police forces and vehicles.

The distance between the bus and the bus is firmly blocked so that it is less than a hand’s span.

Four of the six lanes were controlled.

Also, we are preparing to stop one-person vehicle protesters at any time.

Sidewalks are reminiscent of a maze because barriers are installed in various places so that traffic can only pass in one row.

We are also carrying out the identification of citizens passing through India.

Police are monitoring by setting up checkpoints at 90 downtown entrances to block unexpected gatherings and protests in downtown Seoul.

We are mobilizing 21 security police companies and 800 traffic police officers to respond on site.

Is the subway around Gwanghwamun in the process of passing without stopping?

[기자]

Some public transport is also controlled around Gwanghwamun.

At Seoul Subway Line 5 Gwanghwamun Station, Line 1 and 2 City Hall Station, and Line 3 Gyeongbokgung Station, there are no stop passes and the entrance has been closed.

The nonstop pass is expected to get up in the late afternoon, depending on the situation of nearby gatherings and crowds.

Also, as traffic control around Gwanghwamun Square was implemented, the bus route passing through this area was changed to take the indicated detour.

In addition, the police are cracking down on vehicles entering the city center at each bridge over the Han River.

As a result, the road leading to the city center is generally congested, and the police in particular asked to avoid this section as the direction from the south end of the Hannam Bridge to the north end is being pushed.
