Governor Kim’s appeal hearing will be held starting at 2 pm in courtroom 311, West Building of Seoul Superior Court.

It is not known exactly how long it will take to read the order after the judge explains the reason for the sentence, but considering the first trial, it is expected to take about an hour.

Governor Kim is said to be present in court to reveal his feelings before his sentencing.

It is an afternoon trial, but there are already 20 citizens lined up in front of the court entrance to receive hearing rights.

Since November 2016, Governor Kim has been on trial on charges of illegal manipulation of public opinion using the ‘King Crab’ comment manipulation program to win the elections of ‘Draking’ Kim Dong-won and President Moon Jae. -in.

In particular, if a fine of more than 1 million won is confirmed for violating the electoral law, you will be deprived of the right to be elected for the next five years, and for ten years if you receive a prison sentence.

Regardless of the outcome of the second trial, if an appeal is filed, the governor may remain in the governorship position until the final decision of the Supreme Court is made.

Earlier this year, the second trial court also tentatively concluded that Governor Kim had seen the king crab demonstration.

In particular, the so-called “Dakgalbi Workshop”, which took place during the subsequent testing process, emerged as an important topic.

Governor Kim argued that it was impossible to see ‘King Crab’, saying he dined with Drooking members and chicken ribs at a time when the demonstration was recognized in the first trial.

At the same time, the owner of the Dakgalbi store was called as a witness and received a statement that Governor Kim had packed the food at that time and presented the receipt.

However, Ik-beom Heo’s special inspection team borrowed from the statements of other members and refuted that Governor Kim was late and ate chicken ribs only among the members.

At the second trial, there was also a battle over so-called “reverse comment work” while discussing whether Drooking and Governor Kim were in cahoots.

The “reverse work” was when Drucking’s party and candidate Moon Jae-in pressed “sympathy” for negative comments toward the Democratic Party.

Governor Kim has no reason to join the comment work that hurts the Democratic Party.

However, special prosecutors are facing only 1% of ‘reverse work’ cases, and some are confronting it with the intention that it is a simple mistake by the Drooking members.

Governor Kim has pleaded not guilty throughout the trial, claiming that Drucking threw full responsibility on him.
