The prosecution has reassigned the suspicion of Attorney General Yoon Seok-yeol’s family to a new investigation team and has decided to investigate the defendants and defendants this week.

It should be noted whether the speed of the investigation will accelerate with the recent situation in which the Minister of Justice, Choo Mi-ae, emphasized the investigation without refuge in the related allegations.

Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae recently emphasized the ‘investigation without a sanctuary’ whenever ruling party lawmakers point out that the investigation of Attorney General Yoon Seok-yeol’s wife and mother-in-law is not being carried out properly.

In the midst of this, as the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office reassigned the related case to a new investigation team and began investigating the accusers and accusers, it is noted that the investigation is in full swing.

On the 25th, the prosecution decided to call and investigate Jeong Dae-taek, who sued and charged Yoon’s mother-in-law, Choi Mo, and his wife, Kim Gun-hee, on suspicion of fraud in the lawsuit.

It has been 7 months since Jung filed a complaint in February.

Jeong is a person whose sentence was upheld in a lawsuit against Yoon’s Jang Mo Choi in 2003, before Yoon’s marriage, for a real estate-related money transaction.

Jung also accused Yun of ex officio abuse, saying it influenced the two people to be prosecuted in another case in 2009.

Furthermore, the case that the representative of the Open Democratic Party Choi Kang-wook and others accused Kim Gun-hee of being involved in manipulating the Deutsche Motors share price in April was reassigned to the same investigation team.

There is a suspicion that Mr. Kim provided funding in the Deutsche Motors share price manipulation process.

Choi, the mother-in-law, is already being prosecuted in the case that Dae-taek Chung previously accused him of counterfeiting his bank account balance and is being tried in the Uijeongbu District Court.

Some 40,000 citizens, including Seoul National University professor Woo Hee-jong, submitted a petition to the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office calling for an investigation into the suspicions of President Yoon’s family.

A prosecution official explained that this case will also be investigated in accordance with laws and principles, and that the investigation will be decided after confirming the purpose of the accusation, as in normal cases.

However, the suspicion of Yoon’s family has already emerged as a sensitive political issue, so no matter what trial the prosecution makes, there will be little controversy.

The prosecution is expected to determine whether to initiate a full-scale investigation after confirming the possibility of obtaining evidence or charges of specific crimes through investigations of the accused and the accuser.
