The appeal trial of Professor Kyung-Shim Chung, wife of former Justice Minister Cho Kook, who is serving prison after being sentenced to prison in the first trial for alleged irregularities in the entrance examination of minors and alleged venture capital funds, will begin . this week.

In the first trial, all the corruption charges in the child’s entrance examination, which Professor Jeong denied, were all convicted, but I am interested in what kind of trial will be made in the appeal trial.

In late August 2, when former Justice Minister Cho Kook was before a personal audience, prosecutors launched a forced investigation in signal of a mass seizure.

Late one night on the day of former Minister Cho’s personal audience, his wife, Professor Jeong Gyeong-Shim, was accused of falsifying her daughter’s summons to Tong Yang University.

Over the course of more than a year of trial, Professor Chung denied the allegations, but the first court sentenced him to four years in prison and jailed the court.

All charges against the children’s entrance exam were convicted, and some charges were also convicted, such as investing in stocks using undisclosed information and destroying evidence.

At the same time, Professor Chung accused him of not reflecting on the entire trial and rather of causing pain to those who tell the truth.

Professor Chung’s side immediately objected and appealed.

The appeal hearing will begin tomorrow, three months after the first sentence of the trial.

Prof. Jeong is not expected to appear in court on the first day of preparation for the trial, as there is no obligation to assist the accused.

However, the prevailing observation is that the charges will be denied completely as in the first trial, rather than attempting to commute them by reflecting on the appeal trial.

This is because former Minister Cho, her husband, is also on trial in the first trial on charges of conspiracy for corruption in their children’s entrance exams.

Earlier, Professor Chung’s first trial court ruled that Cho was involved in his daughter’s entrance examination during sentencing.

Recently, the representative of the Open Democratic Party, Choi Kang-wook, was convicted of interfering with university admissions matters by issuing a false intern certificate to former Minister Cho’s son as a lawyer.

Irregularities in former Minister Cho’s children’s entrance exam have not resumed for more than three months since late last year due to the spread of Corona 19.

In other trials, the alleged corruption conspiracy in former Minister Cho’s admissions has been mentioned several times, with interest focused on what kind of trial will be held in Professor Chung’s appeal trial.
