The number of confirmed cases related to the Eastern Detention Center in Seoul has risen to 959 in less than a month.

Today, the fifth assessment is conducted on inmates and more than 1,000 employees.

There is also great concern about whether the cumulative infection scale exceeds a thousand people, with the number of confirmed cases in units of one hundred for each completed test so far.

So is. Today, the fifth comprehensive examination is taking place at the East Detention Center in Seoul, where the number of confirmed cases has risen to the mid-900s.

It is carried out for 1,128 employees and detainees who were judged negatively during the 4th total inspection three days ago.

Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun, Justice Minister Chu Mi-ae, and Vice Minister Lee Yong-gu also conducted on-site quarantine inspections.

When today’s test results come out, there are also voices of concern that the size of confirmed patients, currently in the mid-900s, exceeds four digits.

Since the last second and third tests showed 200 people at a time, and the fourth test showed more than 120 infected people, the results of this test are attracting attention.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases in prisons across the country is 982, which is approaching 1,000, and two cases of deaths among prisoners appear serious.

In addition to the eastern detention center, there is a group infection in the metropolitan area.

Group infection continues to occur in spaces of everyday life, such as workplaces, religious facilities, and hospitals.

First, the number of confirmed cases related to Rosen Express’ Icheon Logistics Terminal has risen to 80, including 69 employees.

The first confirmed cases came out on the 29th of last month, and quarantine authorities believe the infection has spread because workers were not wearing masks and distance rules were not well established.

At a leather factory in Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi province, the cumulative number of confirmed cases rose to 67 after the first confirmed case occurred on 28 last month.

The plant was closed, but 545 people, including employees and retirees, were thoroughly inspected.

The spread continues in nursing homes and hospitals.

On the 29th of last month, the infection scale increased to 16 after 2 officials were confirmed at a nursing home in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.

In the epidemiological investigation, the employees observed the quarantine measures well, but it was found that some residents could not avoid infection due to insufficient use of masks.

At a hospital in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, after a hospitalized patient was confirmed on 21 last month, 12 were added in the contact investigation, and the cumulative number was 66.

Meanwhile, at the church in Jungnang-gu, Seoul, where the first confirmed person came out on the 27th of last month, 5 additional people were confirmed, including church and family members, and the infection scale rose to 61.

Quarantine authorities assessed the current situation as a state of stagnation without a sharp increase or a marked decline.
