[사회]600 people on the second day of new confirmation … “Possibility of 900 or more next week”

With the corona 19 pandemic in full swing, 600 new confirmed cases were recorded over two consecutive days on weekends and holidays, when the number of tests dropped dramatically compared to weekdays.

Quarantine authorities have warned that this trend could result in 500 to 750 confirmed cases per day this week and more than 900 confirmed cases next week.

Even on weekends and holidays, when the number of corona tests19 decreased significantly from weekdays, the number of new confirmed cases exceeded 600 for two consecutive days.

Of the 615 new confirmed cases, 580 were local and 422 were in the metropolitan area, including 231 in Seoul, representing 72%.

Even outside the metropolitan area, infected people continued to spread across the country, including 38 in Ulsan and 33 in Busan.

Quarantine authorities said it was the biggest crisis since the introduction of Corona 19 in Korea, and they were concerned that it was a persistent national situation rather than a temporary regional one.

Also, as there are many asymptomatic infections, it spreads as a small group infection and fatigue from distance accumulates, making it difficult to prevent the rapid spread of the infection.

Furthermore, the infectious reproduction index, which shows how much a patient infects, was slightly reduced from 1.52 to 1.23.

I feared that increasing the distance to three levels across the country would be inevitable if the current spread could not be detected.

Experts recommend that preventive measures be taken with the infectious reproductive index as the key indicator rather than the number of new confirmed cases.
