[사회]600 infections a day in 9 months … “The spread doesn’t seem to break easily”

As the corona 19 outbreak in Korea spread day after day, the number of new confirmed cases skyrocketed to 600, reaching just after the peak of the first pandemic in February and March.

Quarantine authorities suggested that the spread of the infection would not be easily broken due to the occurrence of the infection in various places of daily life and seasonal factors, suggesting the possibility of increasing the distance.

As new outbreaks broke out day after day, 629 new cases of Corona 19 occurred.

The 600 new confirmed cases per day have been around 9 months since the first pandemic was in full swing from February to March.

It is less than 909 people, the highest record per day at the time of the first pandemic, but it is the third highest number in history.

More than 300 confirmed cases were reported 11 times during the first pandemic, but there are already 14 times in the third pandemic.

Of the 600 confirmed cases of local outbreaks, the metropolitan area, including 291 Seoul, accounts for 463, accounting for 77%.

Both Seoul and the metropolitan area are the biggest events in history.

The government predicts that infections occur in various places in daily life, especially in the metropolitan area, and the spread of the spread will not be easily broken due to seasonal factors.

Accordingly, we plan to announce measures, including an increase in distance, after observing the spread over the weekend.

However, experts warn that there could be more than a thousand confirmed cases per day if the trend is now.

[천은미 / 이대목동병원 호흡기내과 교수 : (확산세가) 꺾이지 않으면 지금 600명이 나왔기 때문에 일본 사례를 보면 1~2주 내에 1000~2000명도 충분히 갈 수 있습니다. 그리고 우리가 검사 수를 늘린다면 지금도 1000명이 나올 수 있다고 생각하거든요.]

Meanwhile, the government decided to establish a special quarantine period from 7 to 3 of the following month as a special quarantine period during the end of the year and New Year holidays to curb the spread of Corona 19 and tighten the reins of quarantine.
