[앵커]

Claims are spreading that claims worth 6 billion won will be paid to the victims of the 4 · 3 incident in Jeju, who are victims of domestic violence.

Although the standards are different, it is an astronomical amount compared to the total compensation of 250 billion won for merits for democracy on May 18.

Finally, it is confirmed as the internal reference of the government.

However, the amount of compensation estimated by the government was not 6 trillion won.

If the compensation is expanded due to the massacre of civilians in Geochang and No Gun-ri, the Press Federation or the Yeosun incident, the necessary budget is KRW 4.4 trillion.

Still, it is not a limited number of ‘4 · 3 incidents’.

4 · 3 does not refer simply to the day when the South Korean Workers’ Party started the armed struggle in Jeju in 1948.
