[사회][단독] Unmanned parking system that can’t identify ‘fake paper license plates’

In one apartment, a stranger was caught using a parking lot by copying a resident’s license plate without permission.

It was a sloppy license plate made of paper, but the unmanned parking system couldn’t be leaked.

The company, which is the number one company in the industry, acknowledged the system error and promised to correct it.

When a vehicle enters the apartment’s underground parking lot, the lock opens.

After a while, the man gets out of the vehicle, takes something out of the license plate, and drives off.

As it turned out, the residents’ license plates were secretly copied onto paper and pasted onto their own cars.

Mr. A, a man in his 40s, spent almost a month in the parking lot of this apartment, restricted to outsiders.

I took the train to go to work, and the reason was that the apartment was close to where I got on.

The problem is that the unmanned parking system that recognizes the vehicle number cannot differentiate between the paper and the actual license plate.

Reporters tested whether it was possible to pass through a “paper license plate” at a facility using the unmanned parking control system from the same company as the apartment.

This is the installation vehicle license plate printed on plain paper.

I will try to access the parking lot by connecting it to an external vehicle.

As soon as I get close to the parking control camera, the barrier goes up.

The license plate registered as a pickup truck was duplicated and pasted on an unregistered small SUV, but it passed safely.

As you can see, the unmanned parking control system recognized a fake license plate that had nothing to do with the incoming vehicle.

The company that developed the unmanned parking system supplies the device to airports, departments and large shopping centers throughout the country.

In the industry, it was promoted as the number one company in Korea and received a ministerial mention.

When coverage began, the company acknowledged the system error and announced that it would work to compensate for it.
