According to a report from a student A, who is currently attending a high school in Seoul on the 10th, the day before the 2021 College Aptitude Test (SAT) took place on the 3rd, he learned that his subject for the SAT it was changed to ‘Math B → Math A Hyung’. .

Student A chose math or hyung as the subject for the SAT on September 7. However, on September 16, two days before the application deadline for the SAT, because the test results weren’t good right after the September mock test, she communicated to her classroom teacher you would like to change to a ‘math guy’.

In response, the classroom teacher convinced student A by calling and explaining that the sibling or the mathematics applied above would be more advantageous and that student A also conveyed his intention not to change.

In a phone call with YTN PLUS, Student A said, “Because the teacher may not have been able to organize my thoughts yet, I requested a text message at 6:00 pm the next day (September 17).” . Through the Kakao Talk message, he said, “I’ll only see my brother.”

According to the KakaoTalk message reported by Student A, the classroom teacher replied, “See you on Monday!”

However, contrary to student A’s final decision, the math test subject was changed to type A, not me.

Student A, who found out about this the day before the SAT, filed a complaint with her classroom teacher saying the test subject was wrong, but the school believed it was an error from the Office of Education and filed a complaint. .

However, the Office of Education said on September 17 at 10:15 am that the school had reviewed it. The change was made by the classroom teacher at 10:15 am on the same day, well before 5:56 pm on September 17, when the student sent the final decision message.

To modify the application form, a new application must be completed, the teacher in charge and the student must sign it, and the photo must be replaced again to access the information system of the university entrance test and report it, but such procedure does not has been done at all. The main classroom teacher reviewed the application form without the consent of Student A, and did not even convey the fact that the review was made to math.

Student A said, “Since there is still an entrance exam left, the school and the teacher are only responding to the responsibility of avoiding waiting for the results and discussing them later,” he said. “On the last day 7, just a simple apology from the meeting with the parents, the classroom teacher, the principal, and the assistant principal could get it.”

I contacted the school to hear the school’s position, but could only get a response saying that I would contact you later.

Regarding disciplinary action in connection with the matter, an official from the Seoul Metropolitan Bureau of Education said: “I think we should consider whether there is intent.”
