When Gimpo Urban Railway hired a new employee, YTN interviews confirmed that the employee’s son moved into the company home and was hired as a pick for local residents. The rail side said the employee voluntarily left the company and closed his eyes without taking any disciplinary action, but instead fired two union members who raised the issue. Mr. Lee argues that when a new employee raised suspicions of illegal employment, the city’s rail sector fired two union members, including himself. Mr. A, a new hire who raised the issue of unfair employment by the union, was hired in March last year through a special evaluation that can only be requested by residents of the Gimpo area. The competition rate for general admission was 8: 1, but the special resident admission was unsuccessful, so all six applicants passed. However, Mr. A has been traveling from Seoul for over a year, and the union, who was suspicious of this, demanded gratitude. It was revealed that her father, B, deputy general manager, spearheaded the transfer. The railroad side imposed a three-month disciplinary sentence on his father, Mr. B, but Mr. A quietly left the company without receiving any discipline.
