In September, the police investigated two members of a famous idol group that was popular in Japan.
He was accused of gambling tens of thousands of won in the Philippines.
As a result of the police investigation, it was revealed that one of them also plays online in Korea.
The gambling site used by this singer was also operated with the method called “Avatar”.
This is a method in which a local casino in the Philippines displays the gambling venue via live streaming, and participants connecting from Korea designate the person on the casino site as ‘Avatar’ and instruct whether to place a bet. .
Thousands of people flocked to this type of remote gambling because there was no need to travel abroad to buy airfare.
In addition to idol group singers, famous actors and gangsters have also been included in the online player list.
Gambling sites are known to have been in operation for at least four years.
The result of the police investigation is that the total bet alone amounts to about 800 billion won.
The site’s four operators were all Korean, had servers overseas, and attracted Koreans to the gaming table.
It has been confirmed that even the cannon bank book was used for currency exchange to avoid tracking.
The police established the punishment criteria for illegal gambling in cases where celebrities paid millions of won and the general public paid tens of millions of won.
It is known that more than a hundred people are handed over to the prosecution according to this rule.
Among them, the stakes offered by idol group singers on expeditions and remote gambling in the Philippines were found to be 50 million won.
