On the 31st, which is the last day and Thursday of this year, the whole country will be generally sunny, but the strong cold will continue.
With the cold weather advisory in place in the central and northern regions of Gyeongbuk, the morning temperature is expected to be around -20 degrees Celsius in the interior and mountainous areas of Gangwon, and -15 degrees Celsius in the interior of Gyeonggi , North Chungbuk and North Gyeongbuk.
In other parts of the central and southern interior, the morning temperature will drop to -10 degrees Celsius, it will be very cold and the day temperature will remain below zero in most of the country. The wind is strong too, so the temperature feels even lower. The lowest temperature in the morning was -17 to -4 degrees, and the highest during the day was -5 to 4 degrees.
From day to night, it will snow in the southern part of Gyeonggi and in the inner west of Gyeongsang, and sometimes it will snow until 6:00 PM in Chungbuk. In particular, there will be a lot of snow around the west coast of Chungnam and Jeolla-do, where the heavy snow warning went into effect.
The estimated snow cover is 5-15 cm from the west coast of Chungnam and the mountains of Jeolla, Jeju, Ulleungdo and Dokdo in the morning of day 1, 3-8 cm in Jeju and 1-5 cm in the interior of Chungnam, Chungbuk and the western sea. Up to 20 cm on the west coast of Jeolla, more than 30 cm of snow will arrive in the mountains of Jeju Island, Ulleungdo and Dokdo.
The fine dust concentration will show good levels in all regions.
Sea waves will rise 1 to 3.5 m from the eastern sea, 1 to 4 m from the west sea and 0.5 to 4 m from the south sea. The wave height of the far sea is expected to be 2 to 5 m in the east sea, 2 to 4 m in the west sea and 1.5 to 5 m in the south sea. The wind will blow very hard in all the seas and the waves will rise high.
