The elections to elect the president of the United States begin at 2 pm, a little later in our time.

The candidates are campaigning relentlessly to the end.

President Trump continues his campaign in four and five contending states, and Biden is targeting Pennsylvania, a game that may solidify the early game.

Let’s connect Washington and learn more. Correspondent Taewook Kang!

As candidates, how did you spend your time requesting a vote?

First of all, President Trump continues a broad campaign today, right?

[기자]

On the last day before the vote, President Trump reversed the course of the previous day, starting in the southern states and traveling through the northern states.

First, I finished my campaign in North Carolina in the morning, followed by Pennsylvania and Michigan in the afternoon, followed by Wisconsin.

After 30 minutes, we are on our final campaign.

As in the 2016 presidential election, we will run a final campaign in Grand Rapids.

President Trump says they don’t believe fake polls, betting he will win like 2016, and his supporters are appealing to the same polls to vote.

[앵커]

How is the move of candidate Biden? Are you focusing on Pennsylvania a day ago?

[기자]

Yes it is.

Candidate Biden is focusing on the third day after the weekend in Rustbelt, the northern race state, with the campaign coming to a close.

In particular, they are fighting an all-out defensive battle in Pennsylvania.

This is because while it is Biden’s hometown with the most 20 constituencies among the Northern Rustbelt, it appears to be winning beyond the margin of error.

Candidate Biden is ready to end the campaign with Ohio, which has emerged as a new frontier after the Pennsylvania campaign.

On the campaign trail, Trump urged his supporters to vote, saying it was time to pack up and go home and that the confusion and irresponsibility were over.

[앵커]In the next four hours, the US presidential elections begin. It will be 0 am, American time, right?

[기자]

The earliest is at 0 a.m. M. From day 3 and at 2 p. M. On our schedule.

It starts in two locations: Dixville Notch, a small town in New Hampshire.

Then, the voting takes place weekly from 5 to 20 hours and from 19 to 21 hours.

Based on the eastern state where the states are concentrated, it can be said that it will be in full swing as of 9 o’clock tonight in our time.

The counting process proceeds as soon as the vote is complete.

[앵커]There are high expectations that President Trump will first declare victory or file a lawsuit against a mail ballot. When will we know the outcome?

[기자]

Unless there is a problem, election results are expected to be available around three to four in the afternoon, when the vote runs for five to six hours.

But, like you said, there are a lot of variables.

Because of this, Washington, DC, where the White House is located, looks like a night before the storm.

Iron walls are erected around the White House.

The surrounding buildings are prepared with plywood on the first floor window to prevent looting and damage.

In particular, several groups have already called for a rally in Lafayette Square, where the Black Death protests took place.

It means that if you lose the election and do not win the election, there may be situations where protests can lead.

For this reason, the Washington DC Police Department is preparing for emergency work, closing street parking lots around the White House for 48 hours beginning on Election Day.
