Elections to elect the president of the United States generally go smoothly. Depending on the time difference and weekly voting hours, it will begin to close at 8 a.m. our time, and everything will be finished around 2 p.m. when the westernmost Alaska ends. The outlines of the elected winners are likely to be captured in the late afternoon, when voting and counting takes place from the eastern states, which are struggling with the battlefields. Exit polls are not conducted in all 50 states, but in more than 20 states of interest, including competing states.
