A prototype of a spacecraft on Mars being developed by US private space developer Space X exploded during a test flight and landing. However, it rose into the Earth’s stratosphere and made its first high-altitude flight. Reporter Chae Moon-seok in the press. ‘SN8’, a prototype spaceship launched by private space developer Space X, was launched at the Boca Chica launch site in Texas, USA. In this test flight, Starship was able to make its first high-altitude flight by rising into the Earth’s stratosphere, 12.5 kilometers. Just before reaching its maximum altitude, Starship cut the engine and tipped it forward, beginning to fall under the force of gravity. However, during the landing process, the fuel tank that was actuated to reduce speed exploded when it hit the ground at high speed as the pressure dropped. Takeoff to landing took 6 minutes and 42 seconds. The Space X website broadcasts this process live in real time and the video on YouTube has exceeded millions of views. Founder Elon Musk assessed that the flight was successful after the test and that the landing point guidance was also accurate. However, during the landing process, the fuel tank pressure was low and the spacecraft fell rapidly. The spacecraft launched this time is 50 meters long and 9 meters in diameter, and was developed for high-altitude tests of more than 10 kilometers after a successful low-altitude test launch 150 meters above the ground in September. The original objective of the high altitude test flight was successful, but the last landing failed. SpaceX plans to challenge the 200-kilometer low-orbit flight next year and complete the human migration to Mars by 2050. I’m Moonseok Chae from YTN.
