Pfizer of the United States has applied for approval to use Corona 19 vaccine in Japan. This is the first application in Japan and the vaccination is expected to be available in March next year. Correspondent Lee Kyung-ah reports from Tokyo. Japan has signed a contract with Modenana of the United States to provide 25 million vaccines twice in June and September next year. Pfizer decided to provide 60 million people by June next year and 60 million people from AstraZeneca after March next year, but before the official contract. First of all, vaccines have been secured for the number of people. Of these, Pfizer was the first to seek approval from the Japanese government. We hope to apply a ‘special approval’ process that significantly shortens the approval period, which generally takes about a year. Japanese media predicted that the vaccine will be available from March after approval is obtained around February next year, when data from currently ongoing clinical trials will be available. Japanese companies are also accelerating. After’nses’, a new drug development company, ‘Shionogi Pharmaceutical’ also began clinical trials of the corona vaccine this week. We plan to produce more than 30 million people by the end of next year. As the spread of Corona 19 in Japan is rarely detected, expectations for vaccines are rising. However, many people are concerned about safety, since vaccination is started in a short period of time without going through a sufficient period of development. In a recent national survey in Japan, half of those surveyed said they wanted to get vaccinated, but nearly 40% said they didn’t want to get vaccinated. I’m Kyungah Lee from YTN in Tokyo.
