Of them, more than half were infected in four areas of the metropolitan area, including Tokyo.

Prime Minister Suga, who was passive in the face of the emergency declaration due to the impact on the economy, eventually changed his mind.

Prime Minister Suga is expected to announce an emergency situation for four metropolitan municipalities, including Tokyo, as early as this week after a meeting of experts.

Unlike when it was first announced in April, when schools were closed and closed, only some industries, such as restaurants that were designated as hotbeds for the spread of the infection, are expected to be restricted.

The approval of the vaccine, key to preventing infections, is also in a hurry.
