The Suez Canal, the shortest waterway between Asia and Europe, which was blocked by a large container ship stranded, reopened in seven days.

In time for high tide, 14 tugboats were mobilized to engage in all-out warfare, and as a result, we were able to push a 400-meter-long beached container ship into the water.

After being stranded on the 23rd, the super-large container ship ‘Evergiven’, which blocked the Suez Canal in Egypt for a week, was successfully hoisted and the hull floated in the water.

Nearby tugboats celebrated the success of the float with the sound of the ship.

The Suez Canal Authority says it has resumed canal traffic accordingly.

The authorities tried to move the hull by mobilizing 14 tugs, considering that the water level was at high tide, which is 45 centimeters higher than usual.

At the peak of high tide, the bow, which had settled on the eastern bank of the channel, slowly rose, turning the hull into the center of the channel.

Evergiven is known to first move to the ‘Big Bitter’ lake in the middle of the canal, check its status, and then head to its original destination, Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The Suez Canal Management Office predicted that once the canal normalizes, it will operate 24 hours a day to pass the waiting ships, and it will take three and a half days to pass the waiting ships.

It is reported that there are currently 367 vessels waiting in the canal.

On the 23rd, the Evergiven ran aground when it encountered a gust of wind as it passed through the canal, completely blocking the waterway, causing a disruption to maritime logistics.
