[국제]BTS nominated for Grammy Awards … the first in the history of Korean popular music

BTS (BTS) was nominated for the Grammy Award, the most prestigious award ceremony in the American record industry, adding a new step to K-pop history.

BTS were nominated for the hit song ‘Dynamite’ in the ‘Best Pop Duo / Group Performance’ category, and they challenged to win the top three awards in American music.

The American Recording Academy, which hosts the Grammy Awards, announced BTS’s ‘Dynamite’ as a nomination for the 63rd Grammy Awards in the category ‘Best Pop Duo / Group Performance’.

There have been times when Korean classical music or Korean classical music officials were nominated or won a Grammy Award, but this is the first time Korean popular music has been nominated.

BTS, who dreamed of becoming a Grammy, became the first Korean singer to be nominated for the Top 3 Music Awards in the United States.

They won the ‘Best Social Artist’ award at the ‘Billboard Music Awards’ last month for 4 years in a row, and won two crowns at the ‘American Music Awards’ held on the 23rd.

BTS competes for trophies with Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift at the Grammy Awards.

The ‘Best Pop Duo / Group Performance’, which was recently established in 2012, is not the top 4 awards, but falls into the genre category, but is counted as a major Grammy award.

Unlike other awards, the Grammy is voted on by members of the American music industry’s recording academy to determine nominations and winners.

After the first vote last month, the final vote will take place from the 7th of next month until the beginning of next year, and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on January 31st.

BTS was the first Asian singer to take the stage last year as a Grammy Award winner.

They are known to have run for all seven categories, including ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Record of the Year’, with the album released earlier this year and the song ‘Dynamite’ topping the Billboard Hot 100.

The possibility of a nomination for the girl group Black Pink was predicted for the rookie award, but she was not nominated.
