Jaguars Search “More” than Choose Second Round for Yannick Ngakoue

The Jaguars are reportedly close to a deal that would send off Yannick Ngakoue somewhere else and possibly the team a return for a second round net. Apparently that would not be quite enough. The Jaguars want “more” than a pick in the second round, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL.com (on Twitter).

A second-round “and change” could be enough to sway Jacksonville, rival teams told Pelissero, though he has yet to hear of any tough deals. The Raiders could be one possible destination for Ngakoue, who would support a pasrushast currently lying head over heels Clelin Ferrell en Maxx Crosby. The Jets – who were previously uninterested – are still mulling over the possibility, according to Mike Lombardi of The Athletic. The Seahawks may also make some sense for the 25-year-old, and they made a similar move last summer for Jadeveon Clowney last year.

Ngakoue says he is through with the Jaguars and he has hired a new agent to speed up the trade talks. On the field, the Jaguars have been happy with the Maryland product – he has 37.5 sacks to his credit over four seasons. From the field, he is engaged in Twitter spas with team ownership while publicly forgetting the front office. For now, he is set to play out the 2020 season on his one-year $ 17.88MM bid.
