J. Cole has left a new EP titled Lewis Street.
With a total of eight minutes, the title of the EP refers to Cole’s previous address in his area of Fayetteville, North Carolina, where he and his family lived before moving to Forest Hills Drive. Lewis Street presents a couple of new singles that will appear on their next album The fall.
“The Climb Back” listens to Dreamville’s own production effort from the head. Obviously, Cole focuses on her work, maintains a flow of verses that does not miss a beat and changes gears to a more melodic state in the chorus. Meanwhile, “Lion King on Ice” welcomes JetsonMade’s production credit and rapper T-Minus’ frequent collaborator, and features trap-dependent elements with a loud bass booming at the back.
According to a previous Cole announcement, he still doesn’t have a release date in mind for The fall. Going to Twitter, the rapper said he was “taking my time” and “still finishing” the album, without giving fans an idea of how deep it really is on the album. The fall will mark his first solo solo since 2018 KOD and first project since Dreamville Revenge of the dreamers III in 2019
