House Republicans blow up Democrats’ calls for Congress to pass billions in additional funding to the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), accusing them of the ‘baseless conspiracy theory’ of cost-cutting measures providing post-a-vote.

Democratic leadership announced Monday that the House of Representatives will be re-appointed in Saturday’s session to vote on legislation – which has not yet expired – aimed at preventing the USPS from changing operations it has had in place since January, while the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing.
USPS recently warned election officials in 46 states and the District of Columbia that it could not guarantee that all post-election ballots would arrive on time to count.

“The Democrats’ wild and baseless conspiracy theory over the U.S. Postal Service is irresponsible and only undermines the belief of the American people in the integrity of the election and our institutions,” he said in a statement.
“The Committee on Oversight and Reform has an enormous opportunity to put this conspiracy theory to bed and I hope that my Democratic colleagues will join in checking the facts and identifying areas of reform so that USPS works best for the American people,” he said.
Comer also claimed that proper protocols would be put in place to make people personally safe.
Republican remarks reflect those of Trump, who denied allegations that he tried to suppress votes with the recent changes. Trump said austerity measures are a necessary reform and the administration is working “to make it right” during a performance on “Fox & Friends” on Monday morning.
