Grind and Real: Jared Leto’s Joker is another film he won’t get

T.There’s nothing wrong with someone returning to the role of an actor here or someone else filling in for a while, but it doesn’t always turn out right. Just ask Sean Connery, James Bond’s Wether PPK was re-taken in the sub-par diamonds, even though George Lazenby played a role in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service two years ago.

And yet something new about this week’s news is that Jared Leto will once again play the role of Joker in Justice Schneider’s Justice League re-version, which is being brought to the small screen by HBO Max after a fan campaign. Schneider had to walk away from the 2017 superhero alliance due to death in the family. He was replaced by Jose Weden, who rewrote most of the script, cut out various storylines and attempted to invest in a PO-Face, Power Cord-Infused DC expanded universe with additional superhero Bedinage.

It doesn’t work. The Justice League did not receive better than Schneider Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Meanwhile, Wadden feels that most of his cast, especially Ray Fisher (who plays Cyborg), are originally at the center of the picture. Fisher Tweeted That director’s non-set behavior was “gross, abusive, unprofessional and utterly unacceptable,” and was “enabled” by Justice League creators John Berg and Geoff Jones. Berg denied Fisher’s allegations.

One thing is for sure: Leto was not in the original theatrical cut of the Justice League and, as far as we know, was not part of the original Schneider scheme. Leto first played the Joker in the 2016 Suicide Squad, but despite attempts to get under the character’s skin with strange gifts sent to his co-stars, his performance almost completely ended on the cutting-room floor. Not that – as far as we know – it will be in an upcoming sequel to the movie (next year’s Creatively Suicide Squad title).

Affleck as Batman

Failing upwards… Ben Affleck’s Batman will also return to the rebooted Justice League. Photograph: St Luster / Warner Bros.

The reason for the critical failure of the original movie and the almost publicly written public frustration over it (not to mention that Joaquin Phoenix was going to win the screw to play the same character) led him to assume he would not set foot again. Role anytime soon. How wrong we were.

But the Schneider Justice League has often proved us wrong. We thought Ben Affleck was a terrible, gun-wielding, fleshy Batman who would never pull on the cap again – yet he would return like a dark knight in Justice League 2.0.

We felt that bad superhero movies were meant to capture the boring corners of Netflix instead of giving fans a second chance when they didn’t like them the first time. We think Schneider is a terrible director of comic-book movies (despite being a Watch Chaman) who will never be given creative control over the full rim of interconnected episodes.

In all these areas, we have improved the stand. And now that Leto has also returned to show us what things really should have been, it’s a matter of time before HBO Max gives us the Suicide Squad: Leto Cut, a three-hour acquisition of the full sc score-winning caverting, a background of dead pigs and live rats. His way to heaven in the meantime. And yes, fans obviously want that to happen too.
