The new crown pandemic brings shocking changes to tourism, with our vacations now less carefree and more sterile for public health.
Indicatively, it is foreseen the infrequent cleaning of the rooms in the hotels, nor the daily change of clothes, the abolition of the buffet is considered, while there will be a “roof” for the bathers in the pools.
However, the great thorn is on the side of tourism, since despite reports from the international press, there is no European agreement on air travel, and the government opts for Plan B with bilateral agreements if the European framework is not satisfactory. According to SKAI information, Kyriakos Mitsotakis had contact with the President of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on the matter.
The new standards in hotels of the Ministry of Tourism

Airports

Boats
-Boats will now travel at 50% of capacity.

Car rental – tourist buses

Movements
Regarding travel, there is a proposal for the launch of ferry services in Crete, Corfu and Rhodes from May 18. The final decision will be made at the end of the week. The specific islands have long-lasting health structures, while the restriction on air travel will be lifted.
A general release of the movements of the ferry is planned progressively from June 1 and always with respect to the health protocols to resist the health structures of the islands.
