Greece has seen a decrease compared to Friday in the number of coronavirus cases, intubated and deaths in the last 24 hours, the National Public Health Organization announced Saturday afternoon, with 795 new diagnoses, 257 intubated and 15 deaths.
Slightly less than half of the cases, specifically 383, were diagnosed in the Attica region (excluding the islands).
Of the 795 new cases of the new coronavirus infection, four were identified after checks at the country’s entry gates. The total number of cases is 156,473, of which 52% are men. During the follow-up it was found that 5,936 (3.8%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 48,939 (63.8%) are related to an already known case.
The mean age of 257 intubated patients is 69 years. 185 (72%) of those intubated are men. 86.8% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older.
The number of patients who have been discharged from the ICU since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 1,106.
Finally, EODY registered 15 new deaths from COVID-19 disease, reaching 5,779 deaths in total in the country, of which 3,397 (58.8%) were men. The mean age of our deceased fellow citizens was 79 years and 95.5% had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.
