He is very critical of SYRIZA the government spokesman, Stelios Petsas, on the occasion of the condemnation of Greece by the European Court of Human Rights for the occupation of the City Plaza hotel.
According to Stelios Petsas, this occupation is a comically tragic case “Which exposes the irresponsibility and inadequacy of the previous government.”

Commenting on the news about the fine in Greece, Stelios Petsas wonders: “Will SYRIZA pay for its irresponsible behavior? Or will it also raise it to the taxpayers?
The Stelios Petsas announcement in detail:
The occupation of the City Plaza Hotel for three full years is a comically tragic affair that exposes the irresponsibility and inadequacy of the previous government. An occupation that ended on July 10, 2019, that is, SYRIZA has just lost power, apparently because the “solidarity occupiers” knew that the new government would do what it had to do. Yesterday the European Court of Human Rights condemned Greece for the occupation. Bill; 312,500 euros. Will SYRIZA pay you for your irresponsible behavior? Or will it be a burden on taxpayers too?
The ocupation
It all started on April 22, 2016, when anti-authoritarians occupied the City Plaza Hotel and turned it into a “that’s what I want” place for immigrants. Despite calls from the owner, during three full years of SYRIZA’s rule, no police operation was carried out to end the occupation. The result of this situation was his appeal to the Court of Justice of the European Communities.
The City Plaza Hotel
According to the European Court, “in the Papachela and Amazon SA v. Greece case, the court found a violation of the right to protection of property due to the possession, for more than three years, of the plaintiffs’ hotel by immigrants and a group of people who acted in solidarity with them.
The court ruled that Greece had to pay the plaintiffs € 300,000 for job loss (financial loss) and € 2,500 for expenses. He also had to pay Mrs. Papachela 10,000 euros in moral damages».
Greece was convicted of violating Article 1 of the First Additional Protocol to the ECHR (right to property).
Greece has supported the inaction of the authorities, for reasons of public interest, at the risk of disturbing public order by evacuating dozens of people.
The Court of Justice of the European Communities recognized the concerns of the authorities, but ruled that this did not justify their three-year inaction.
