In particular, as of Monday, March 23, 4,080 violations have been registered in the three prefectures of the region of western Greece (Achaia, Etoloakarnania, Ilia).
More specifically, 1,810 rapes have been recorded in Achaia, 1,609 in Etoloakarnania and 661 in Ilia.
On the occasion of the recording of violations, it seems that there is not much difference between the prefectures of Achaia and Etoloakarnania, since in Achaia there are around 300,000 citizens, while in Etoloakarnania, about 200,000 citizens.
According to police sources in the APE, the number of rapes in Etoloakarnania may be due to the fact that this prefecture is the largest prefecture in the country, since the inhabited areas cover 5,461 square kilometers.
In addition, according to the analysis of the police data, most of the violations were registered on Tuesday, March 31, while the least amount was confirmed on April 20, Easter Monday. Specifically, on March 31, 212 violations were registered and on April 20, only 19.
According to the same data, there was a sharp increase in rapes on Tuesday, April 9. So on that day the violations reached 207 and this is attributed to the fact that it was the first day that weather conditions showed significant improvement.
As for Easter days, few violations were recorded. Specifically, on Friday, 55 violations were confirmed, while on Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday, 29.
However, after Easter, on Tuesday, April 21, there was a significant increase, as there were 105 rapes, most of which were from that day until the end of April.
Regarding weekends, the number of rapes was almost the same as on other days, and most were recorded on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26, reaching a total of 176.
In terms of travel violations outside the regional unit of residence, 47 violations were registered, most of which were confirmed on Holy Tuesday, April 14 and Easter Monday, April 20, where a total of 16 were imposed fines.
