The two governments emphasize in their joint declaration tits unwavering commitment to international law and the Charter of the United Nations and the principles enshrined therein, as a basis for peace, security, good neighborly relations and the peaceful settlement of disputes for all countries in the region in general .
In this sense, the “Abraham Agreement” signed between the United Arab Emirates and Israel to consolidate relations is a historic achievement that contributes to peace. stability and mutual understanding among the peoples of the Middle East.
The two governments reaffirm their commitment to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of States, highlighting the need for coordinated action by the international community to address existing interventions at the regional level and promote respect for State sovereignty.
Both governments condemn the violation by Turkey of the sovereignty and sovereign rights of the Hellenic Republic and the Republic of Cyprus, but also its general aggressive behavior in the Middle East, the Southeast Mediterranean and the South Caucasus, in flagrant violation of international law, while recalling the obligation of all States to refrain from the threat or use of force as provided in the United States Charter.
In this spirit, the two governments call on Turkey to respect international law and immediately cease all its illegal and provocative actions.
In addition, the two governments are concerned about the export of terrorism and extremism to the wider region and the exploitation of existing conditions in conflict areas. The two parties reaffirm their common commitment to combat terrorism and extremism in all its forms and call on the international community to respond firmly to this threat.
The two governments also agree on the added value of further expanding their cooperation, together with and within regional and multilateral mechanisms.
In this spirit, the Hellenic Republic is committed to playing a constructive role, contributing to the strengthening of the historical and friendly ties between the UAE and the European Union.
