And all this thanks to the original idea of a local businessman, his Paul Durham, who worked on cruise ships for 27 consecutive years, traveled the world as a lieutenant on P&O Cruises and now owns two ferries operating in the Dorset region.
Durham discovered that his ships were close to some of the most famous cruise ships in the world, from Anthem of the Seas, Jewel of the Seas and Allure of the Seas to Carnival Valor and Queen Mary 2. And so he came up with the idea of using its ferries to offer tourists excursions as close as possible to these cruises, such as the Allure of the Seas, a floating city that can accommodate up to 6,687 passengers.
“They are spectacular, because even when they are anchored in ports like Southampton or elsewhere, nobody has the opportunity to approach them at a distance that has a good view,” he says.
Durham launched an advertising campaign through his company Mudeford Ferry Facebook account for 2.5 hours of excursions 50 meters from the desert cruises and his idea was immediately crowned with success, with many locals and tourists alike. They express their interest in these original guided tours, during which the clever British businessman uses all the knowledge and experience she has gained over so many years working with the beasts of the sea.
