Strong southerly winds are expected in Attica overnight from Friday 11 to Saturday 12 December 2020, according to the latest forecast data from the National Observatory of Athens / meteo.gr.
The winds in the Saronic Gulf, in the southern regions of Attica and in southern Evia will reach 7-8 Beaufort. Heavy rains and possibly thunderstorms are expected during the same period. It is pointed out that from Sunday afternoon (12-13-2020) until Monday afternoon (12-14-2020), the phenomena will be dangerous in places in the east and south of the country.
A. In more detail, strong phenomena will affect:
1. On Friday (11-12-2020), from afternoon in the Peloponnese and overnight until Saturday (12-12-2020) in Attica. From Saturday morning and from the northwest the effects will weaken.
2. Saturday (12-12-2020) East Macedonia, Thrace, the East Aegean islands, from time to time Crete until noon and from the afternoon the Dodecanese.
3. On Sunday (12-13-2020), Crete, the Dodecanese gradually the Cyclades, the eastern Aegean islands and the central and southern mainland regions of the country.
4. On Monday (12-14-2020) the eastern country and mainly central Macedonia, Thessaly, the Sporades, eastern Esterea, Evia, the Aegean and Dodecanese islands. A weakening of the phenomena is expected from the afternoon hours.
B. Stormy south winds from 7-8 Beaufort will blow locally in the Ionian Sea on Friday (12-11-2020) and in the Aegean on Saturday (12-12-2020) and Sunday (12-13-2020). North winds will prevail on Monday (14-12-2020) from 8 Beaufort in the Ionian and North Aegean.
