The Holy Diocese of France issued a statement on the murderous attack that Fr. Nikolas Kakavelakis received tonight in Lyon.
The announcement states the following:
“With great pain we were informed of the shooting of Fr. Nikolaos Kakavelakis outside the I. Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin of Lyon.
Father Nikolaos served in the First Diocese of France as a clergyman until recently, when his secondment ended and he had to return to Greece.
We pray for a speedy recovery and unequivocally condemn all forms of violence.
