European Union countries will begin vaccinating their citizens against the coronavirus on December 27, the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced today.
“Vaccines across the EU will start on December 27, 28 and 29,” the head of the Commission wrote in a Twitter post.
It is time for Europe.
On December 27, 28 and 29, vaccination will begin throughout the EU.

It is recalled that yesterday, Ms Von der Leyen had reported that vaccinations in European countries would start at the same time.
Next Monday, December 21, the European Health Organization will meet to give its opinion on the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, and approval is expected to be given before December 23.
In an interview with Die Welt published today, European Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakidou called on EU member states to be ready to start vaccination against the coronavirus, expressing hope that a vaccine will be available “before the end of the year “.
At the same time, he promised that all European countries would be treated equally on this issue. “All member states will have safe and effective vaccines at the same time and under the same conditions.” No member state will have priority over another and each country will receive the same number of doses (of the vaccine) depending on its population, “he said.
F. Petsas: Priority of health personnel
A little earlier today, government spokesman Stelios Petsas had said about vaccines that “Greece is supplied like the rest of Europe. Each Member State receives vaccines depending on the population. Therefore, Europe receives fewer vaccines, Greece receives fewer vaccines. “Pfizer is reducing vaccines in the United States.”
“The important thing is that there are licenses by European organizations and then that the first vaccines arrive in our country, probably before the end of the year,” he stressed.
He added: “We will have 25 million vaccines by the end of June. There does not seem to be any interruption, except for the first orders as we said. We plan the vaccination with what we have in our hands. Of course, the health personnel are in the priority ”.
