The Secretary General of Primary Health Care, Marios Themistokleous, highlighted in the information from the Ministry of Health that Greece has secured 26,090,000 doses, corresponding to the vaccination of 15,450,000 citizens.

The epidemiological picture of the coronavirus in the country

EU vaccine negotiations

Each country had and has the right not to proceed with the provision of the corresponding quotas. Greece has so far proceeded with all the agreements and has obtained all the vaccines that correspond to it.

Vaccination schedule

At the end of January our country will receive from Pfizer-BioNTech 427,050 installments, at the end of February 362,700 installments and in March you will receive another 558,675 installments, a total of 1,348,425 installments. This number is slightly higher than previous announcements. In these quantities you must add a case 1.180,930 installments of Pfizer’s additional agreement with the European Commission.

Delivery is expected after approval of Moderna vaccine 20,000 doses in January, 115,000 doses in February and 105,000 doses in March. Moderna’s total deliveries for the first quarter are 240,000 installments.

In addition, these deliveries are expected to be added to the AstraZeneca vaccine, if it is approved by Coreper. Thus, the first delivery will take place in February and will have finished 400,000 doses, with an increase in deliveries in the coming months.

Finally, as it became known, the approval of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is expected earlier, which is unique and much easier to administer.
