US President-elect Joe Biden, in a keynote address, noted that the United States “returned” to the world stage and said he was “confident” in its ability to restore international “respect” in his country.
Sending a strong message to Donald Trump and his insistence on denouncing “fraud” without being able to prove what he was saying, the 46th president of the United States resolutely stressed that nothing will stop the transition of power in the United States after his electoral victory.
He also said that the transfer of power is already underway despite the refusal of current President Donald Trump to accept the electoral result and described as “shameful” the fact that the US president does not admit defeat.
Joe Biden also said he hopes to nominate candidates for some ministries before Thanksgiving on November 26.
The winner of the US election gave a press conference in his stronghold of Wilmington, Delaware and revealed that he had spoken with six world leaders. “I told them the United States was back”, “America is no longer alone.”
“His reaction was very enthusiastic … so I’m sure we can restore the respect that America used to have,” he said.
Among the leaders Joe Biden spoke with was British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
