Until April 15, the payment of extraordinary compensation to seasonal tourism-food workers without the right to reemployment for the months of January and February 2021
The Press Office of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs issued the following announcement:
During the first half of April, the OAED will pay the extraordinary compensation of 400 euros (increased by 50 euros for each minor child) for each of the months of January and February 2021, to the unemployed in the tourism-food sector for whom I know without obligation of reemployment.
According to the Joint Ministerial Decision of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Kostis Hatzidakis and the Deputy Minister of Finance Theodoros Skylakakis that has been promoted for publication, the beneficiaries of the compensation are seasonal workers in the tourism and food sector who meet all the requirements. Following:
1. Were employed in 2019 – full or part time – without obligation of reemployment in accordance with the provisions in force in 2020
2. They received a regular unemployment benefit of 3 months and 5 days during the period September 2019-February 2020 or a regular unemployment benefit was extended for 1 month during the previous period.
3. They are not beneficiaries and have not received, do not receive and will not receive a regular unemployment benefit for the period September 2020-February 2021
4. They did not receive the regular unemployment benefit or the long-term unemployment benefit for the months of September 2020 to February 2021
5. They are not beneficiaries, have not received, do not receive or will not receive special purpose compensation for any other reason during the first two months of the year.
The payment is made after a check in the OAED register of registered unemployed to see if the conditions mentioned above are met and a cross check with the data observed in PS ERGANI.
Next, the OAED will invite the beneficiaries to update on its electronic platform information such as their AMKA, their AFM and their bank account number (IBAN) and to submit an electronically responsible declaration that they are still unemployed, that there is no obligation to return – employed by contract and that in case of employment they will immediately inform the Organization.
An information from OAED about the exact time of payment will follow. The budget for the measure is estimated at 18 million euros and is estimated at about 20,000 employees.
