President Donald Trump followed in the footsteps of several of his predecessors when he entered the hospital on Friday, just hours after being diagnosed with a coronavirus.
Trump arrived at Walter Reed National Military Hospital on Friday afternoon when his symptoms deteriorated slightly after the symptoms of the coronavirus.
After its introduction, alalum prevailed on his state of health with the confusing information.
CNN analyzes the history of the United States and records the presidents who had to be hospitalized during their term. Among them are Grover Cleveland, William McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Ronald Reegan.
According to the article, “It is extremely rare for a president to spend the night in the hospital, given that there is a large medical facility in the White House.”
Grover cleveland
In 1893, while the United States was going through an economic recession, President Grover Cleveland had to undergo surgery on his mouth, specifically on his left jaw. Doctors took a sample of the tumor without revealing its identity and recommended that it be removed.
Some were concerned that news of the Cleveland surgery would worsen economic turmoil. So staying in a normal hospital without attracting people’s attention seemed impossible.
The result was that journalists learned that the president was recovering from a toothache and a bad cold. This version convinced the American people and that Cleveland finally completed his presidency.
William McKinley
In 1901, the president of the United States was shot twice in the Buffalo by the anarchist Leon Czolgosz, during the Pan American Exposition.
He was immediately transferred to the exhibition’s medical office and soon after the doctors arrived. Although he had received two bullets, he felt no pain.
The medical staff gave him morphine first and then an injection. McKinley died eight days later and his condition had previously deteriorated.
Theodore Roosevelt
Three years out of office, Theodore Roosevelt, a third-term candidate as the Bull Moose Party candidate, was meeting with supporters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, before a speech when he was shot and killed by New York salon owner John Sch. hurt him. It was saved in part by its thick notes and the case that blocked the bullet.
Roosevelt gave his speech, which lasted almost an hour, in a bloody T-shirt before entering the hospital. He lived the rest of his life with the bullet in his body.
Dwight D. Eisenhower
President Dwight Eisenhower suffered a heart attack in September 1955 while in Denver, suffered from chest pain, and was misdiagnosed with a gastrointestinal problem before being taken to the hospital in a secret car. The White House initially underestimated the severity of the heart attack and heart experts were flown to Denver while the president spent seven weeks in the hospital.
Later, Eisenhower underwent surgery for Crohn’s disease in 1956 and suffered a stroke in 1957. However, some scholars have argued that while the 1955 heart attack raised questions about whether he was fit to serve or run for reelection. In 1956, the incident finally led him to apply for another round.
Ronald reagan
He was shot in 1981 when John Hinckley opened fire in front of the Hilton hotel. He was rushed to George Washington Hospital, where he underwent minor surgery.
He was miraculously saved because the bullet he had received was very close to his heart.
After the attack, Reagan joked with his wife that he “forgot to bend over” and asked doctors if they were Republicans.
