The Minister of Health Vassilis Kikilias He spoke about the strengthening of the Chalkida hospital, so that it can meet the growing needs for coronavirus and called for compliance with health measures.

During his visit to Chalkida, Mr. Kikilias stated:

“The new Chalkida Hospital is a gem of a Hospital.” We have opened new ICUs and MAFs, we have hired permanent doctors for the ICU and nursing staff and now we support the entire country as a Health Region, with solidarity, mutual support and self-sacrifice. Today, two cases of Karditsa are being treated in the ICU-COVID of the Chalkida Hospital. In addition, at Karystos Hospital we opened two MAF beds.

Many thanks to the people of Salud for all this effort. I would also like to thank the Governor of Central Greece Fanis Spanos for all the contribution and help in this effort, the Mayor of Chalkida Eleni Vaka and the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni for their help, so that some problems can be solved and the Hospital can operate.

We must show solidarity and support our compatriots in need. Once again I have the opportunity here, from Chalkida, to appeal to everyone based on the severity of the pandemic, it is a great public health crisis. Pay attention to health rules, take care of each other, take care of vulnerable groups, so that the little ones can stay away from their grandparents this season. Possibly everyone thinks they are carriers of the virus and that they wear a mask to protect their family.

You see the enormous pressure that the NSS receives. and how the virus has spread to the northern Greek community and is spreading everywhere. And what we see every day in other European countries is shocking.

I am convinced that if we all work together and continue to fight together, we can protect the Greeks. I am glad that science and technology are running alongside the Health fighters and soon there will be a vaccine, to be precise more than one vaccine, so that we can vaccinate our compatriots and gradually move to partial normality.

I understand that people are tired, anxious, there is uncertainty and sadness. The more we follow the measures correctly, I think the faster we will get out of the confinement and we will be able to do it, in proportion, the more normal the Christmas holidays that are coming ”.
