Turkish teacher: “Since 1923 the islands have remained in Greece. Perfect”

His article Turkish Professor Mehmet Efe Jaman, who refutes his rhetoric Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his advisers on the Treaty of Lausanne and direct threats against Greece, the Honorary Chief of Staff presents on his Facebook page, General Costarakos.

Specifically, Michalis Kostarakos writes:

“THE DRUMS OF WAR SOUND” – A TURKISH PROFESSOR WRITES WHAT MANY DARE NOT WRITE IN GREECE – “SINCE 1923 THE ISLANDS REMAINED IN GREECE. PERFECT!”

HE Professor Mehmet Efe Jaman he dared to express through an article the contrary opinion of the Erdogan regime, which resulted in threats to his life.

Specifically, a few hours ago, the teacher published the following message: They are lynching me a) Right-wing Turkish nationalists (gray wolves), yes) Left Nationalists (Kemalist ulusalcı), C) Islamists and Erdoganists, re) Children of the deep state because of this article. “

He then quotes the article on which he claims the Turks want to eliminate the professor:

By Mehmet Efe Caman –

In previous articles I have discussed Turkey’s focus on the eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean Sea. Even if I accepted a lotreactions, in my opinion it is important to write these. The mentality they have for foreign policy, the Eurasian elements deeply State that came to governmentWe can understand it from Turkey’s current tough and aggressive position. As I have said, Turkey appears to be pursuing a violation of the Lausanne Treaty.

In today’s video that was leaked on social media, the Dogu Perincek, speaking on a program by Ahmet Hakan, It states that problems in the Eastern Mediterranean cannot be solved by law and negotiation, but by military force and even by war. Perincek is not one of the idiots of the Islamist crew. After all, if he was one of them, he wouldn’t answer.

But as is well known, the deepest sectors of the regime, and especially the military navy, have imposed on Erdogan and his entourage, the expansive position of the so-called “Blue Homeland”, which undermines the Treaty of Lausanne. As much as Erdogan tries to cheer himself up with the gas show he did in Black Sea, “The gods want kurbania”.

If we pay attention to the sounds that come from deep, we perceive the rhythms of the drums of war. Erdogan realizes that his electoral base, in an environment of economic problems, financial difficulties and decline, will not think about this but will plunge into neo-Ottoman dreams. In fact, even the parties of the so-called opposition regime, strongly defends this expansive rhetoric about the Blue Homeland.

As I mentioned, I wrote the truth in my writings, as in accordance with the texts of international law, with the Treaty of Lausanne first, rhetoric and Turkey’s positions deviate from the status quo and are far from logical line. Those who tried to reply to me through social media, most of them are people trying to protect Turkey and support its current expansionist trend. One of their common arguments is that Greece, in violation of the Treaty of Lausanne, equipped islands in the eastern Aegean. Although these problems are very technical, it should be summarized to inform people. The deeper we go, the more information we need.

Split the Aegean in two?

An approach from the axis of law and injustice of the type “But the Aegean is a great sea! Let’s divide it into two equal parts “ It is really isolated from reality! And of justice too. Sovereign rights and state borders are one of the most important issues in international relations and international law. The sovereign rights of Greece in the Aegean islands are unquestionable. What Turkey perceives as a problem it is the proximity of some Greek islands to the coast of Anatolia.

But that doesn’t change reality. With the exception of Imbros and Tenedos, the Princes’ Islands and all islands, islets, and islets located within three miles of Anatolia, all other islands, islets, and islets belong to Greece. In this it is not possible to take into account coffee conversations of the type “But that’s too much! “

Land without an owner, be it land or island, is no different, they do not belong to you. Perfect! The delivery of these islands to Greece was carried out under international conditions. Nor is it an incident that occurred yesterday. The Treaty of Lausanne was signed in 1923 and the islands remained in Greece. The Dodecanese belonged to Italy and when Italy lost the war after World War II, in the Treaty of Paris these islands passed to Greece. Turkey did not object to this, nor was there any legal basis for such a thing. That is why Turkey did not even feel the need to send a delegation to Paris.

As in 1945

Let us now look at the following. Both the islands and the mainland have rights over the continental shelf, territorial waters and the EEZ. Turkey does not accept this. Ok but that Never mind. Because there is a rule of international law. This is stated in the 1983 Maritime Law Convention. Yes, Turkey did not sign it and therefore does not bind it.

But it is also aptax standard of international law. Furthermore, the non-recognition of this situation of the islands does not change anything. This is the status quo. Greece will never accept the change of the status quo. The situation is similar to what happened after 1945, when the Soviets searched for bases in the Strait, while they also demanded from Kars and Ardahan. Why did Turkey not accept those requests? But because she was right! So even today Greece is right on the issue of the status quo and the rights of the Aegean islands.

Because the Greeks are equipping the islands

Let’s move on to the topic of equipping the Aegean islands. When did Greece do this? After the establishment of the Aegean army by Turkey! What is the reason why Turkey outside the NATO frameworkfounded the Aegean army? This is an army that is directed against Greece. This is the first. And the second reason why Greece equipped the Aegean islands is that after the 1974 landing in Cyprus, as happened with Cyprus, suddenly, as if it had fallen from the sky, Aegean questions began to arise. And yet the so-called Aegean Sea problems did not exist before 1950.

After 1950 the Democratic Party began to pursue a more active foreign policy. For this reason, Cyprus became one of the most basic playing fields. When after 1974 Turkey did not withdraw its military presence from Cyprus and did not restore what was required by the constitution of the Republic of Cyprus, the Greece was worried. And even more so when the KKTC was established at the leadership of the coup generals in the early 1980s, Turkey has now become a full-fledged invader under international law. Today we denounce the Russian invasion and Russia’s integration of Crimea, right? But this is exactly the Turkey’s position in Cyprus.

Turkey, which since 1974 has made its intervention with as a guarantor State under the Treaties of London and Zurich who gave her this status, she didn’t do what she should. And yet, the official purpose of the operation was to neutralize the coup that had carried out Nikos Sampson along with the members of EOKA. That was the excuse. That is, to restore the Constitution of Cyprus. Ensure constitutional order on the island. Because those conditions did not allow Turkey to occupy and divide Cyprus.

In these circumstances, Greece feared that Turkey would follow a similar behavior in the Aegean. And she equipped the islands to ensure their minimal defense. What will it equip? The Greek army is there to protect its own islands. Looking at the current position of the expansionist regime in Ankara, can you say that this move by Greece was unnecessary? Turkey today publicly declares that it does not recognize sovereignty area of the neighboring country. If under these circumstances Greece could not defend its islands, this in its opinion it will not. Would it represent a threat to its territorial integrity?

Turkey changed the status quo

See international politics moving forward with actions and reactions. Turkey took action and now a reaction is inevitable. Turkey after 1974, by not withdrawing its army from Cyprus, changed the status quo. This is the action. While Greece in response equipped its islands in the Aegean. Turkey since 1974 Mr.then militarily occupies 40% of the territory of another country. Is there any drawback I say? Sorry but this is the truth. In fact, with the Annan plan (withdrawal of troops from the island and reunification of Cyprus), the current rulers of Ankara had tacitly accepted it.

Now Perincek has clearly expressed the wishes of the team he represents. What does that mean? Declare that this story is solved by war! Do you agree with that? If your answer is yes, then I have some bad news for you. This is not patriotism. This is called expansionism. The basis of the theme is the fine line between good and evil. Turkey today strengthens the foundations of the order established by Lausanne. If Greece did that, Ankara would have to defend the Lausanne Treaty with all its might. For what reason; Because it was Lausanne that annulled the Treaty of Sevres, that’s why! If Lausanne does not exist, the Treaty of Sevres applies.

Turkey seems wrapped in the Lausanne text, but it is the guarantee of its existence. But she does not think at all which one is the alternative to this text.

Forgive me, but this is not a very smart position. Furthermore, it is a legally and morally weak position. And most importantly, it is a dangerous place. Why; For territorial integrity which Turkey says it values so highly. I hope the Ankara rioters and some adventurers Second-class officers with profiles like Enver Pasha, so as not to set the country on fire.
