A new instruction for seafarers (Navtex) was issued Tuesday afternoon by the Turkish hydrographic service, through which it demands the demilitarization of Lemnos.
“The regime of demilitarization of the island of Lemnos, as defined by the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923, has been violated,” reported the Turk Navtex.
The text of the Turkish Navtex:
The new Turkish Navtex is published less than two hours after the end of the tripartite conference call held by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and President of the European Council, Charles Michel.
Remember that the turkish presidency had stated, through its announcement immediately after the end of the teleconference, that Greece and Turkey were ready to start exploratory talks.
However, this latest development goes to show that Turkey chooses to continue the path of challenges, implementing a completely reluctant policy.
Oruc Reis: “War” of nerves with the investigation – Where is it
Ankara is waging a “war” of nerves with Oruc Reis. The Turkish researcher, who had been wandering the eastern Mediterranean for a month, went for a walk in the Gulf of Antalya on Tuesday morning, at a time when Erdogan says he is ready for a dialogue with Greece.
The Oruc Reis took a tour of the Gulf of Antalya, with the Turkish government newspaper Yeni Safak announcing the alleged departure of the Turkish research ship.
Oruc Reis finally took a walk in the Gulf of Antalya and apparently in maritime traffic returned to the port.
