Speaking by teleconference at the 31st Panhellenic Congress of Hematology, Mr. Tsiodras said that the percentage of Covid-19 patients who are treated is 9.2%, while 21.3% is the percentage of patients aged 45 to 54 years. Regarding the ages of diagnosis, young people between 18 and 24 years old have had an increase in recent weeks.

According to Tsiodras, according to estimates, the actual number of cases in Greece is estimated to be at least three times higher, while at the moment there are 8,437 actively confirmed cases in the country. At the same time, he stated that the total number of patients is estimated at about 1,000.

In the last seven days, over 55 years, we have had about 1,000 cases, said Tsiodras, adding that this is something that “means that the Health System will be pressed with mathematical precision.”

According to the professor, all ICUs by region are in West Macedonia: 100%, Central Macedonia: 46%, Epirus: 40%, Attica: 61%, Thessaloniki: 60% and Thessaly: 40%.

Regarding the vaccine, he referred to the American scientist Anthony Fauci who said that “it may be ready in January”, while he stressed that the immunity of the herd is not a strategy, “it is problematic, it is like walking on a thin and stretched rope that not seen. ” “, make a note of.
