Trump's reaction to a video of former President George W. Bush

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, reacted sharply on Twitter to the video with which his Republican predecessor, George W. Bush, on Sunday. Bush called for a crisis in the country, which faces a double health and economic crisis, due to the coronation pandemic.

In the video, shared Saturday by the George W. Bush Presidential Center, the former White House resident parallels the pandemic with the September 11, 2001 attacks that took place four months after taking office.

“I saw a great country unite to honor its heroes, mourn with those who mourned and take on inevitable new tasks,” Bush said seriously.

In a context of melancholic music and a background of black and white photographs, the 73-year-old Texan says he is confident that the “spirit of sacrifice” of Americans has not been lost, and calls for solidarity, empathy and kindness in the face of the crisis pandemic.

“Remember that our differences are minimal against this threat,” he said. “Let’s remember that empathy and kindness are necessary and powerful tools,” he added.

Trump, who has been repeatedly criticized for his lack of compassion for the way he treats the coronavirus pandemic since it erupted, may have seen the phrase as an attack on himself.

Early Sunday morning, a tweet from a conservative Fox News television consultant commented, in which Bush’s silence on Trump’s recent trial was stigmatized.

“He was invisible when he had to face the greatest fraud in the history of the United States,” Trump wrote, referring to his predecessor.
