Time will tell who will take power in January, outgoing President Donald Trump said tonight.
In the first official statements he made almost a week after all the major television networks predicted his defeat in the elections, the Republican president stressed that his own government would not impose a lockdown in the United States under any circumstances.
“Our government is not going to lock up, I don’t know what it will do; who will rule in the future. Only time will tell. “However, we do not approve of a new generalized lockdown,” Trump said cryptically, with many commentators speaking of an indirect admission of defeat.
“Coronavirus Vaccine in the US Through April”
The Republican president spoke from the White House gardens about Operation Warp Speed, which coordinates the government’s viral vaccination strategy, in his first public speech since announcing his defeat on Saturday.
Referring to the vaccine for the new coronavirus, he said that he expects it to be available to the entire population in April. He also estimated that approval for the use of the Pfizer vaccine will be given “very soon.”
