Donald Trump has caused a stir for the umpteenth time since the pandemic began. In record time, he was discharged from the hospital where he was treated for Covid-19, returned to the White House, ostentatiously removed the mask he was wearing and said he was “very well.”
After a four-day stay for the treatment of coronavirus symptoms, the American president was discharged from Walter Reed Military Hospital and returned to his duties. Upon reaching the White House, he threw away the protective mask he was wearing and flashes from photojournalists flashed.
The Republican president, although his doctors say he has not yet fully overcome the danger, insisted on downgrading the pandemic shortly before the presidential elections.
“Do not let it dominate your life. Do not be afraid of it. We go back, we go back to work. We will get ahead (…).” Go out, be careful, “he urged citizens in a recorded video message and while he plans to start his election campaign “I’ll be back on the field for my campaign soon!” wrote D. Trump on Twitter.
Sean Conley’s personal physician said yesterday that the president’s condition allows him to return home, although he has not entirely escaped danger. “While you may not be completely sure yet, the team and I agree that all of your evaluations, and most importantly, your clinical condition support your return home, where you will be surrounded by world-class medical care at all hours of the day “said the doctor.
Hours before the announcement of his departure, Trump left, drawing much backlash and criticism that he is putting himself and the people around him in greater danger. In a Twitter message, the Republican President defended his decision, saying: “The media were reportedly upset that I got into a safe vehicle to thank the many fans and supporters who were out of the hospital for many hours, including days, to honor their president. “If I hadn’t, the media would have said I was rude.”
Yet as the days leading up to the Nov. 3 presidential election dwindle and more than 3 million Americans from various states cast their votes in writing, the prognosis is getting worse for Donald Trump. The last two Reuters and ABC polls show that he lost the election by 10 and 14 points respectively.
